Positive Paths helps support women in need through education and one-on-one mentoring. They were also one of the beneficiaries of the Giving Machine. On March 20, Sung Turley volunteered for four hours at their biggest fundraising event of the year.
“There were two of us volunteering during the morning shift, and they had plenty of work for me to do,” Sung shared. “Kate, the executive director, asked if I had a son who was volunteering during the night shift. She mentioned that they needed an army of volunteers for the gala, and every volunteer spot had been filled. When she showed me the list, I noticed that pretty much all of the volunteers were missionaries, including Elder Turley.”
Sung also shared that Kate was extremely pleased with all the volunteers who helped with the gala and expressed how grateful she was for everyone who signed up through JustServe.
Sung’s experience is a reminder that service does not have to be complicated to be meaningful.
When we are willing to sacrifice a little of our time, we can help organizations like Positive Paths continue their important work and make a real difference in the lives of others.
