Unified Fast of Gratitude for Religious Freedom

The fast is scheduled for Sunday, July 5 — the day after the United States’ Independence Day on July 4.

As the United States celebrates the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, the First Presidency of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints wrote a letter inviting all to participate in a unified fast. “All are invited to participate in a unified fast to express gratitude for religious liberty and to pray that it be strengthened throughout the world,” wrote President Dallin H. Back to School Donation Drive

Between now and July 26, the Mesa Alma Stake is sponsoring a JustServe project to collect new back-to-school items for four local Mesa schools: Guerrero, Crismon, Washington, and Adams. These schools will distribute the supplies directly to the students who need them most. Your generous support is greatly appreciated!

City of Mesa Looking for Volunteers

The City of Mesa is looking for volunteers to help at the Independence Day celebration. There are multiple times and shifts available for July 3 and 4, including splash zone, carnival games, entertainment, and info booths. More information here: https://mesaalma.org/service#azfreedom

The Mesa Temple operates four shifts daily, Tuesday through Saturday, making each shift relatively short. Ordinance workers typically serve just one shift per week.
