Post Devotional Resources & Survey

At the March 22nd Parent & Leader Devotional, Pres. Guthrie taught, "Happiness in family life is most likely to be achieved when founded upon the teachings of the Lord Jesus Christ." There was a lot of helpful resources – you can access them here.

Also – if you attended the devotional, please share your thoughts about it and how we can support you in this short survey: https://forms.gle/D2CvzGrHFwAAKnKG6

Post General Conference Evaluation

For those of you that follow our Stake Facebook page, you will recall a post that Pres Alan Guthrie made on March 2nd about the number of times that Jesus was mentioned during the 2 hour conference. Every 43 seconds His name was spoken, either from the pulpit or the choir. Astounding!

A similar analysis of our recent General Conference yielded* very interesting results.

Session

Total References (All Names & Titles)

Most Frequent Title (Excluding "Jesus Christ")

Saturday Morning

238

Lord

Saturday Afternoon

291

Savior

Sunday Morning (Easter)

447

Redeemer

Sunday Afternoon

316

Master

Some analysis:

• Jesus Christ was mentioned every 22.29 seconds for 8 hours!

• The Sunday Morning session saw an extraordinary 447 references, attributed to the session's specific focus on the Resurrection, where titles like "The Living Christ," "The Resurrected Lord," and "The Lamb of God" were used in nearly every address.

• In the Saturday Afternoon session, the title "Savior" was used more frequently than in others, specifically during talks like Brother David J. Wunderli’s "Jesus Christ Is Not Our Burden; He Is Our Relief," which emphasized personal salvation and support.

• Formal vs. Descriptive: About 60% of these references were the formal names "Jesus," "Christ," or "Jesus Christ." The remaining 40% consisted of the dozens of varied titles found in the scriptures, reflecting the "Christ-centered" theme.

This count includes references made within the talks, the formal sustaining of officers, the choir numbers, and the concluding prayers of each session.

Conclusion – we love and worship our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ!
