Salt Lake Temple Square Visitors’ Center Opens May 18

The state-of-the-art 39,800-square-foot Temple Square Visitors’ Center features a west wing and an east wing, with a lower level that includes exhibits, temple scale models, and temple replica rooms. Temple Square has grown into one of America’s most visited religious destinations, attracting millions of visitors each year. For the curious and devoted alike, the exhibits explain what temples represent — sacred spaces rooted in faith, family, service, and promises with God.

The “Inside a Temple” tour offers a rare opportunity to see what the interior of a temple is like and to understand the purpose of temple worship. While this experience does not take place inside the Salt Lake Temple itself, the rooms are designed to match those found in temples of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. During this guided, 30-minute experience, you’ll move through spaces such as a baptistry, instruction room, sealing room, and celestial room. An audio tour is also available. Using a headset, you’ll hear narration (currently available in English, Mandarin, and Spanish) that explains how each space is used and why it holds deep meaning for Latter-day Saints.

Admission to the center is free. While no ticket is required for entry, a reservation is required for the 30-minute “Inside a Temple” tour. Reservations can be made through the Temple Square app (Apple, Android) or at TempleSquare.org.

Mesa and Gilbert Temples

The Gilbert Temple is closed through Monday April 20 and will then reopen. Both Mesa and

Gilbert temples will then be open. Stop by and see the grounds – the gardeners have been working hard and have planted many beautiful flowers and plants.

Admission is always Free. Plan your visit today at history.churchofjesuschrist.org/museum.
