Stake Blood Drive
There are two local charities within our Stake boundaries that were part of the Gilbert Giving Machines at the end of 2025. These two groups are doing crucial work, providing services and assistance to our neighbors who need it most. They are:

On Tuesday night (April 21), these funds were provided to these two charities. They are very grateful as are the many thousands that will benefit from these donations.
Light the World Giving Machines are specialized vending machines that allow people to purchase items for those in need, instead of for themselves. Initiated by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, these machines enable users to donate to various local and international charities during the holiday season by swiping a card to buy things like food, clothing, livestock, or medical supplies for people around the world.
New Nauvoo Temple Visitors' Center
The new Nauvoo Temple Visitors’ Center of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in historic Nauvoo, Illinois, will be dedicated by Elder Gerrit W. Gong of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles on Saturday, June 27, 2026. The restored Brigham and Mary Ann Young Home will be rededicated at the same time.
New Young Women Age-Group Names (First Presidency Announcement)

To help young women understand their divine place in God’s work, to represent their spiritual dignity as His beloved daughters, and to highlight their progression, the following age-group names for young women:
Builder of Faith, young women turning 12 or 13—a Builder of Faith helps build God’s kingdom through her faith in Christ, steadfast witness, and actions that uplift and encourage others (see Ephesians 2:20).
Messenger of Hope, young women turning 14 or 15—a Messenger of Hope carries Christ’s message of hope to the weary, speaking peace, sharing comfort, and lifting hearts through the power of the Spirit (see Mosiah 18:8–9).
Gatherer of Light, young women turning 16 or older—a Gatherer of Light trusts divine guidance and draws strength from covenants as she seeks, gathers, and reflects God’s light (see Doctrine and Covenants 50:24).
What if a ward has a small number of young women? Each age-group with a young woman in the group should have a president. For example, if a ward has two young women who are in different age-groups, they would each serve as president of their age- group. Where possible, one or two counselors and a secretary serve with each president.
